Acceptable Use Policy

Mandra Voice Version 1.0 · Effective 18 September 2026

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It sets out what you must not do with Mandra Voice. Breaking it can get your account suspended or terminated, and in serious cases reported to the authorities.

The short version: dictate your own words, lawfully, at a human pace, and do not use the Service to hurt anyone.

1. Recording and consent

Do not record people who have not consented where the law requires their consent.

Mandra Voice exists so you can dictate your own speech. If other people can be heard, you are responsible for the law that applies to you. In Canada, s.184 of the Criminal Code makes it an offence to intercept a private communication without the consent of at least one party. A number of US states, and many other countries, require the consent of all parties. Requirements vary by jurisdiction and by circumstance, and we cannot advise you.

Specifically prohibited:

  • Recording or transcribing a conversation, meeting, call, or interview without the consent required in your jurisdiction.
  • Recording anyone covertly, including in a place where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy.
  • Transcribing the voice of a child without their parent's or guardian's consent.
  • Using the Service for surveillance of employees, students, tenants, or anyone else without the disclosure and consent the law requires.

2. Sensitive and regulated data

Do not dictate protected health information. We are not a HIPAA business associate, we do not offer a Business Associate Agreement, and we do not hold a HIPAA attestation. Do not use Mandra Voice for patient notes, diagnoses, treatment records, or anything else that constitutes PHI under HIPAA or equivalent health-privacy law.

Also do not use the Service for:

  • Classified, national-security, or export-controlled information.
  • Payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or credentials — dictating them sends them through third-party transcription providers.
  • Information you are contractually or professionally obliged to keep within a specific system or jurisdiction, unless you have confirmed that using Mandra Voice is permitted.

If you need to handle regulated data, talk to support@mandravoice.com before you do; if we can support your requirement we will say so in writing, and if we cannot we will tell you that too.

3. Illegal and harmful content

Do not use Mandra Voice to produce, transmit, or facilitate:

  • Child sexual abuse material, or any sexual content involving minors.
  • Threats of violence, incitement to violence, or content supporting terrorism or violent extremism.
  • Harassment, stalking, bullying, doxxing, or targeted abuse of any person.
  • Defamatory content, or content that infringes someone's copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, or publicity rights.
  • Fraud, phishing, impersonation of a real person or organisation, or deceptive content intended to obtain money or credentials.
  • Spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or content that violates anti-spam law including Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.
  • Malware, exploit code intended for unauthorised use, or instructions for building weapons capable of mass casualties.
  • Content that violates any applicable law, regulation, or sanction.

4. Abuse of the Service

Do not:

  • Automate dictation. Feeding pre-recorded, synthesised, or machine-generated audio into the Service, or scripting it to run without a person speaking, is prohibited. Paid plans described as "unlimited" mean unlimited human use.
  • Exceed or evade limits. Do not circumvent quotas, rate limits, device limits, or plan gating, and do not create multiple accounts to multiply a free allowance or evade a suspension.
  • Resell or sublicense. Do not resell access, wrap the Service in your own product, or provide it as a service to third parties without a written agreement with us.
  • Attack the Service. No denial-of-service, no probing or scanning without our written permission, no attempting to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours, no interfering with other users.
  • Reverse engineer or extract credentials. See §2 of the EULA.
  • Misrepresent us. Do not use our name, logo, or branding to imply endorsement, and do not claim to be us.

5. Security research

We welcome good-faith security research. If you find a vulnerability, report it to support@mandravoice.com before disclosing it, give us reasonable time to fix it, do not access or modify data belonging to anyone else, and do not degrade the Service for other users. Research conducted along those lines will not be treated as a violation of this policy, and we will not pursue legal action over it.

6. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and take any action we judge appropriate, including warning you, throttling your account, removing content, suspending or terminating your account, and reporting to law enforcement.

How we act. Where the violation is not serious and not ongoing, we will normally warn you and give you a chance to correct it. Where it is serious — child safety, credible threats, active attacks, fraud, or a legal obligation to act — we will suspend immediately and without notice.

Termination for a violation does not entitle you to a refund, and we may decline to serve you in future.

Appeals. If you believe we acted wrongly, email support@mandravoice.com with your account address and what happened. A person will review it and respond within 5 business days.

Legal requests. We respond to valid legal process. See the Privacy Policy for what we disclose and when we notify you.

7. Reporting

To report a violation, email support@mandravoice.com with as much detail as you can. We review every report and will act where action is warranted. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as new forms of abuse appear. Material changes are announced under §19 of the Terms of Service.
